China is exporting millions of quad bikes, scooters, pit bikes and mini motos every year, many of these are of a reasonable quality, but there are some very cheap and low quality bikes which you should be aware of.
Some things to be aware of are parts containing illegal levels of asbestos.
- Parts containing illegal levels of asbestos.
- The frames are sometimes built from a cheaper material and the slightest impact could cause it to bend or break.
- Exhausts which are not able to withstand the heat and will simply snap in half after a few weeks of use.
- Plastic pull starts which easily snap.
- Cheap spark plugs or ignition coils which cause the engines not to start.
- Brakes which don’t have the power to stop them or not connected properly.
- Chains which repeatedly fall off.
- Bolts that are not tightened correctly and easily come loose whilst moving.
